Waves and beach flooding were amazing!
Jose brought hide tides to Bayview and Commonwealth.
Water had been up on sidewalk at evening tide.

By-law Amendments Approved
Thank you to those who attended the recent special meeting. The proposed amendments to the SIA by-laws, as previewed at our August meeting, posted on our website and mentioned in past newsletters were unanimously approved. Final by-laws are available for viewing on our webpage: http://www.strathmereimprovementassociation.org/
Two recent meetings of interest:
Sept. 11 UT Meeting CFSWB Annual Town Hall.
Township Hall was filled with Strathmere baysiders concerned about new flood maps and the consequences of being moved into a Coastal A Zones. Several homeowners addressed the Two Committee and expressed their dismay with FEMA's new designation, the State's new building regulations, the lack of warning provided to Strathmere and how to proceed in an appeals process. Financial considerations such as big spikes in flood insurance and a possible decrease in property values were also pointed out by those in attendance. Stu Farell, from Stockton University, was also in attendance and weighed in. (More in Town Hall recap.)
On an unrelated issue, Daniel Lee from Whale Beach asked Twp. Committee to pass a resolution against County proposals to install rumble strips on Commonwealth and Landis Avenues. Mr. Lee also attended the Freeholders' meeting the following evening. Twp. Engineer Paul
Dietrich had previously sent a letter against the strips and Mayor Palombo stated that UT is on our side. The SIA has since asked for the resolution to be acted upon and has written to the County Freeholders and Engineers. Mr. Lee asked about previous discussions to make parking one side only and to create a bike path for recreation. (More in Town Hall recap.) SIA representatives will be at the Sept. 25 meeting.
Town Hall Meeting: The Saturday afterwards, Sept. 16, Citizens for Strathmere Whale Beach held its annual Town Hall. Scott Morgan, Township Administer, attended and fielded about an hour's worth of questions from the packed house. Please Try to Attend the Next UT Committee Meeting: Sept. 25, 7:30 pm at Township Hall.
