Schiavo Library: April 2015 Newsletter
Earth Day – April 22
Need some inspiration this Earth Day? Here are two suggestions:
To save money and electricity – set your computer to go to sleep after a few minutes of no activity. The average desktop computer uses more than 73 watts while on, but only 21 watts while in the sleep mode. Right click on the Power (battery) icon on the lower right of the screen and go to “Power Options.” Choose your time and you’re saving electricity.
Find some native plants to use in your garden and yard. They’ll thrive on less watering and maintenance. An excellent website to use: http://findnativeplants.com. Locally, the NJ Audubon Society’s Nature Center of Cape May is hosting a Wildlife Gardens Plant Sale; order by April 30 and pick up May 9-10, 2015. Favorite Books:
Rose emailed and said that she enjoyed Tana French’s Faithful Place and Alyson Richman’s Lost Wife. Just out and very “interesting” is the novel, Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum, about a bored housewife in Zurich, Switzerland.
I think it will be a hit with book groups – tons of issues to discuss.

Save the date:
