Beach Replenishment 7/24/09

Standing at the former entrance to the State park, looking towards the Ocean -

Looking north straight towards OC - this is what's left of the Point, for now.
I can't wait to see it filled in.

A little towards the Ocean, with the worker's markers in place.

Looking towards the Bay -

A closer view of the trucks at work -

I'm very happy to tell you that you can no longer see the Ocean when you stand on the street at the corner of Seaview & Neptune!

I still see knuckleheads climbing on those rocks.

I didn't climb on any rocks, but I admit that I did climb that pile of dirt where the steps used to be on Seacliff, to get this shot

Looking south from Winthrop Dunes. The beach at Winthrop was still closed today, but all beach points south were packed with people.

Looking straight out to the Ocean from Winthrop Dunes

Looking slightly north from Winthrop Dunes

On the beach at Williams, looking North

Walking over the pipe at Williams Beach, looking North . . .
And looking South

Tons of people enjoying lots of fresh beach

The seagulls aren't upset about the pipes.

They are done work in the northern part of Strathmere. They are now working from Sherman down to Whale Beach. All beaches north of Sherman should be open.
There is no direct beach access from Seaview of Seacliff - there hasn't been since last fall. You can go to Wintrhop to get onto the beach. Strathmere has small streets so it's not that big of a deal to walk a street or two over to get to the beach.

Hi,
There are no rocks on the Strathmere beach. I don't know the sizes of Sea Isle or Avalon to compare. It also depends where in Strathmere you are. Check out today's photos of the fresh beaches. There is penty of room out on the beaches now.
