Here’s a “blast from the past” that you may enjoy.
The La Fontana de Mare Restaurant is remodeling, and when they took off the siding they exposed the service garage that Harlan Wittkamp added to the building right after WW II.

Pretty neat! In the late 1940’s, this building was our post office, a soda fountain and a service station.

The Strathmere Fishing and Environmental Club will hold their annual Winter Social on March 7 at the Lobster Loft in Sea Isle City.
More information, including how to purchase tickets, is available on their website here.
You don’t have to be a member to come to the Social, but why not join?
Some of us don’t even fish – yet we’re members because it’s so much fun!

As we reported earlier, the beach replenishment project will begin in April at the Point (Corson’s Inlet State Park).
It is expected that they will work south and complete the Whale Beach portion by Memorial Day, before progressing on to Townsend’s Inlet.
Beaches will be closed 1000 feet at a time, and work will continue 24 hours a day.
The Township plans on a public meeting to discuss the replenishment project, but no date has been set.
