Schiavo Library February 2018 Newsletter

February Schedule
Just a reminder - the library will be closed for the first two weeks of February again this year. This will provide needed maintenance time. We’ll be reopening on February 13th with our regular schedule. Mahjong games will be postponed until we resume on Tuesday, Feb. 13th.

Blind Date with a Book
Come check out our Mystery Date with a book, never know what you might get. There is a survey to rate your date inside each book. Let us know your thoughts. Love it, hate it, would you like to see more like it. Let us know.

February: Library Lovers’ Month
If you love your local library, show it! Write notes of gratitude to your local librarian or maybe even better - write your local politicians and tell them how important our libraries are to everyone! Or just stop in and enjoy our lovely Library. You can still Donate (Books, DVD’s, VHS Tapes or Money) all donations are appreciated.

February: National Bird-Feeding Month
Visit one of your local Audobons, or use the Audobon Guide to North American Birds to identify what birds are local to your region and which may visit your bird feeder. Check out our variety of information on Birds in North America and Cape May, New Jersey.

Library News
We say goodbye & Happy Retirement to our former Library Director Christine Rohrman. You will be missed and I will do my best to carry on traditions. Have a Happy and safe vacation. Will look forward to your visit in April.

Schiavo Library: January 2018 Newsletter

Winter Challenges
Despite the cold and the snow, we’re open. If you need to get out of the house (even for just a few minutes), stop in. The library is bright and warm and cheerful. We’ve got books, magazines and the daily newspaper to browse. You could even listen to some music.

Food Collection Box
We are still collecting food for the local food banks. Please take a moment to go through your pantry and see what you can contribute. Thanks! Brain Teaser Month
January is brain teaser month. So, we will feature the puzzle of the week. The first one is “The World’s Best Pizza Puzzle.” Stop in and see if you can solve it.

Mahjong
Mahjong continues here at the library. Wednesday is the normal day for play. Lessons can also be scheduled with Wendy. Call for any changes or updates or to schedule lessons (609 486-6265).

Changes at the Library
I’ll be retiring at the end of the month and Melissa will become the Library Director. Rosemarie Whelan is going to step in as the Assistant Librarian. So, you will be seeing more of her. For the winter the hours will generally be 8:30-2:30 and occasionally 10-4pm. And we will be closed the first two weeks of February.

I will miss seeing everyone. Please help to continue Rita Schiavo’s legacy and keep this a great library.
Thanks for a wonderful 8 years!

Christine Rohrman, Library Director
