SIA Newsletter 7 5 11 - SIA Meeting Friday - Please Come!

The Strathmere Improvement Association can now also be found on Facebook

To all Strathmere and Whale Beach Homeowners and Visitors,

We have an SIA meeting coming up this Friday evening at 8:00 pm. Immediately after our "short" business meeting, we'll have a tasting of select, craft-style beers with Philly soft pretzels!

Our Program Committee, with Janet Mahley, Elaine Holsomback and Linda Bateman, have come up with a great series of fun events to follow our meetings.

At the June Meeting, with many people not yet here for the summer, we had a great time at our "Welcome Back" wine and cheese party:

On June 11 we held another successful yard sale. Most "sellers" seemed to do well, and a good time was had by all.

Joyce Wilson took a turn at the SIA Sales table...

We also want to announce that now, thanks to Linda Bateman, we are on facebook! You can become friends with Strathmere Improvement Association (SIA). Facebook

We sold lots of caps, tote bags and coolers on the Fourth of July, so thanks to all who purchased! Your dues and those sales are what pay for the Parade and the Christmas Party!

We have very few green tote bags left, but caps and coolers are currently available at 212 Bayview Drive. Call 263-6846 to be sure we're home.

We will have a whole separate Newsletter on the Fourth of July Parade, but in the meantime we want to tell you we'll be on the front page of tomorrow's Cape May County Herald.

You can see the on-line version (five pictures) here - http://www.capemaycountyherald.com/article/community/strathmere/74124-strathmere+fourth+july+parade

You can also see three pages of parade pictures on the Strathmere Blog here -

If you missed it, we sent out the Trash Regulations with our June 8 Newsletter. If you want another copy, respond to this newsletter - sia6@comcast.net

The Strathmere Improvement Association includes all owners and many visitors to Strathmere and Whale Beach. It was founded over 50 years ago as a community organization with the objective of making Strathmere a better place. We are proud of the organization's many accomplishments over the years. The dues and fund raisers provide for, among other things, funding the Fourth of July Parade, and our share of the Christmas Party. In the past, we've also donated money to help pay for extra State Police protection. If you have adult children or relatives (or visitors) who visit Strathmere, please forward this message to them - perhaps they'd like to be members and receive these e-mail messages also.

You can contact us by responding to this e-mail sia6@comcast.net or by mailing SIA at PO Box 57 in Strathmere.

Thanks to all for your continuing support!

Butch Vandegrift - President
Linda Bateman -Vice-President
Donna Diefenderfer - Treasurer
Dorothy Addario - Recording Secretary
Ken Weaver - Corresponding Secretary
