Schiavo Library: April 2012 Newsletter

Schiavo Library: April 2012 Newsletter

One Hundred Years Ago (1912):
Thanks to everyone who sent in an entry for our contest – “Strathmere is the best town because….” We will continue the contest into April, so it’s not too late to email us - info@strathmerelibrary.org or drop off your ideas here at the library. Winners will be announced in May.

National Library Week (April 8 – 14, 2012):
For National Library Workers Day, April 10, I’ve nominated Jessica as a “Star Assistant.” I’m sure that you would agree that she’s an essential part of our library.

Save the Date – May Used Book Sale:
We will soon be gearing up for our annual Spring Used Book Sale. Plan to join us – we’ve got lots of books – hardbound and paperback. Here are the dates:  May 25 – June 9, 2012

Summer Programs:
Yes, summer is just around the corner. If you have any ideas for a program for children or adults, please let me know by email. Ideas can come from anywhere. Yesterday I attended a reception for the State Librarian, Norma Blake, at the Cape May Courthouse Library. And one of their librarians shared a new idea for a program for children – “Preschool Dance Party.” It sounds like fun- we’ll give it a try.
