To All Strathmere and Whale Beach Homeowners and Visitors,

Three things for this week:
Tonight, August 29, the Strathmere Volunteer Fire Company will hold its Second Annual Barbecue at the Deauville Beach House, from 6 to 9pm.
Tickets ($25 per person) may be obtained at the door.
A ticket includes:
Grilled chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, corn on the cob and live music!

This Saturday, September 1, from 9 am to 11 am, the SFEC will hold its free KIDS' SURF FISHING TOURNAMENT at the Prescott Street beach.
The tournament is open to all children age 17 and under (kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult), so bring your children and grandchildren! They need to bring their own fishing rod and tackle (pyramid weights only, please).
Do yourselves a favor and walk the beach while the kids fish Saturday morning - you'll be glad you did!
More info here; Pix from last year here.
That Saturday evening, also September 1, the SIA has rescheduled the Centennial Trolley Rides.
Same format as scheduled before:
For the younger folks, at 4:00, 4:20 and 4:40, we will be providing 15-minute fun trolley rides around town.
For the "not-quite-so-young" crowd, we'll have 45-minute historic tours of the town at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00.
Debbie Vandegrift and Ken Weaver will be the tour narrators, and they promise to regale you with many facts about Historic Strathmere.
Please come a little early; we'd like to pull out on the hour...
The trolley holds 25 people. It will be "first-come, first served", but if you come at 5:00 and the trolley is full, you will have your choice of reservations at 6:00 or 7:00.
All tours will leave from in front of the Post Office (your coolers welcome).
