SIA Newsletter 9 2 2012 - Trash & Recycling on Monday; Trolley Rides a Big Hit

To All Strathmere and Whale Beach Homeowners and Visitors,

Remember - Upper Township collects both trash andd recycling on summer Holiday Mondays - put them out tonight!
Last night's rescheduled Centennial Trolley Rides seemed to go over very well.
The three Kids' Rides, narrated by Elaine Holsomback, were well-attended and obviously a big hit.
The three historic rides had good news and bad news - good: each ride was full; bad: we could not accommodate everyone who came to ride.
Post-ride comments seemed uniformly positive (except for the sound system and the heat).
Narrators Ken and Deb had a good time on the three trips and thank Diddy Addario, Linda Bateman and Elaine for coping with the confusion of having more people trying to ride than we had seats.
Attached is the "Cheat Sheet" used for the adult rides for your Strathmerian history pleasure...
And as we said on the tours, much of what was described may be found on Carol Baker's wonderful Strathmere History website at
Here is Elaine explaining the "I Spy" tour to the kids (picture taken before the trolley filled).

Here is the changeover between second and third kids' rides...

Ken and Deb prepare for the "Historic" tours...

And they're off!

Our thanks to all who came!
