SIA Newsletter 12 6 2013 - Food Drive; Snowy Owl; Last Cast Results; Channel Markers

To All Strathmere and Whale Beach Homeowners and Visitors,

Just a reminder - at their December 7 Meeting tomorrow, the Strathmere Fishing and Environmental Club will have a Food Drive for folks suffering in the continuing poor economy.
The food is being collected for and will be distributed by the non-denominational Community Food Pantry at the Church of the Resurrection in Marmora.
Please bring non-perishable food, toiletries, napkins, paper towels or plates to the Firehouse tomorrow afternoon (December 7), or prior to then to the home of Randy Roash at 124 Prescott Road.
Suggestions on food items may be found here.    Checks should be made out to COTR - Food Pantry.
If you won’t be in Strathmere, please send your check to SFEC at PO Box 77, Strathmere 08248.
Thanks!

On Wednesday, we saw this snowy owl taking advantage of our new snow fences.

Hopefully, she’ll stay around for awhile (males are all white).

The next day, the Press of AC had this article on these owls.  Let’s try to keep mum and let outsiders go to Galloway!

Guess at least some people think the boating season has ended.
On Tuesday, they removed the channel markers and “No Wake” zone markers...
