To all Strathmere and Whale Beach Homeowners and Visitors,

On this Wednesday evening at 6:30, the first of several lifeguard boat races will take off down the bay in the annual MS 6-mile race that starts and ends at the Deauville Inn.
Here is a picture from last year's race. Watch from the Deauville, Twisties, the playground, street ends - or take some beer to a friend's who lives on the bay!

More Fourth of July pictures (pre-parade and post-parade at the Deauville), a list of the winners and thanks to volunteers can be seen here -

The dessert competition at the July SIA meeting was a big success - at least with the tasters! Diddy Addario and Elaine Holsomback were first place winners.

The Strathmere (formerly Olympic) Games were a great time, despite the rain. Additional pictures may be seen here -

The Jane Shetler Tournament and SFEC Summer Social were well-attended and lots of fun. More pictures can be seen here -

If you haven't seen it yet, has a nice feature on Strathmere, seen here -  - There are actually two segments,  one from last year and one from this summer.

The Strathmere Improvement Association includes all owners and many visitors to Strathmere and Whale Beach. It was founded over 50 years ago as a community organization with the simple objective of making Strathmere a better place. We are proud of the organization's many accomplishments over the years. Our thanks to all who have paid their SIA Dues ($10 annually per adult). The dues and fund raisers provide for distributing the trash regulations, mailing the post cards, funding the Fourth of July Parade, and our share of the Christmas Party. We have also donated money to help pay for extra State Police protection. If you have adult children or relatives (or visitors) who visit Strathmere, please forward this message to them - perhaps they'd like to be members and receive these e-mail messages also.
Note that you can see previous SIA Newsletters here.

You can contact us by responding to this e-mail or by mailing SIA at PO Box 57 in Strathmere.

Thanks to all for your continuing support!
Butch Vandegrift - President
Ken Weaver - Vice-President
Donna Diefenderfer - Treasurer
Debbie Vandegrift - Secretary
